Thirunavukkarasu Jayakumar is an Associate Professor in the area of Speech Sciences. His research interests are on speech production and speech perception in humans using perceptual and objective methods. He has focused interest in voice assessment and management in individuals with professional voice user and voice disorders. His research interest also extents to Event related potentials (ERP) of Speech and language, Speaker verification/identification and Genomic analysis for communication disorders. 
His doctoral research was on investigating voice & speech characteristics in monozygotic and dizygotic twins, who were categorized based on DNA fingerprint. He has analytical experience in various research tools / software for speech and voice assessment. He completed his master and doctorate in Speech language pathology at AII India Institute of Speech and Hearing, University of Mysore.
Presently, Dr. T. Jayakumar is working on projects and guiding PhD. candidates in the area of voice science related issues in neuro-typical individuals and individuals with voice disorders. Over 37 master thesis guided and 6 Ph.D dissertations are under his supervision.   He has PhD. guideship for Speech-language pathology and Linguistics under University of Mysore.
