All India Institute of Speech and Hearing – Rajbhasha Section(OLIC)
The Rajbhasha Section(OLIC) ensures compliance of the orders and instructions relating to the Official Language Rules issued by the Government of India from time to time and the use of Hindi in the administrative work of the Institute. Rajbhasha Section (OLIC) plays an important role in providing administrative support, training and other facilities related to translation to all the departments/sections of the Institute.
With the implementation of the Constitution on January 26, 1950, Hindi was made the official language of the Indian Union according to Article 343 of the Constitution. The Government of India was entrusted with the responsibility of promoting the level of usage of Hindi. After that the Official Language Act 1963 came into force. After the Official Languages Act came into force, the Official Languages Rules, 1976 were enacted. The Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, regularly issues orders for the use of Hindi as the official language.
All India Institute of Speech and Hearing is making all efforts to fulfill the orders, rules and resolutions issued by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs with the aim of promoting the Hindi language. To fulfil this objective, the Rajbhasha Section (OLIC) was established in the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing so that maximum use of Hindi could be ensured in government work.
The Rajbhasha Section (OLIC) of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing ensures compliance with the orders and instructions related to the Official Language Rules issued from time to time by the Government of India and the use of Hindi in the administrative work of the Institute. The Rajbhasha Section(OLIC) plays an important role in providing administrative support, training and other facilities related to translation to all the departments and sections of the Institute.

II. Main functions of the section
Our primary responsibility is to ensure the effective implementation of Hindi, which serves as the official language within our institution. We are committed to achieve the objectives mentioned in the annual programme issued by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. We try to maintain the language policy of our institute to its fullest extent. To facilitate the successful implementation of Hindi, we organize four Hindi workshops every year. These workshops serve as a platform to enhance the language proficiency and promote a deeper understanding of Hindi among the faculty and officers/ employee of our Institute. In addition, we hold four meetings of the Official Language Implementation Committee and two meetings of the Hindi Advisory Committee. These meetings allow us to formulate strategies and take necessary steps to ensure compliance with language regulations within our institution.
In our continuous efforts to promote Hindi, Rajbhasha Section (OLIC) takes the initiative of organizing Hindi Week/Fortnight/Month. This dedicated period serves as an occasion to celebrate the richness and cultural significance of the Hindi language. In addition, we regularly arrange various activities that encourage and facilitate the use of Hindi in daily tasks.
Our efforts are based on humility and a genuine desire to foster an environment where Hindi can flourish. We understand the importance of language diversity and believe that the effective implementation of Hindi enhances communication and inclusiveness within our organization. Through our collective efforts and unwavering commitment, we strive to create an environment where the use of Hindi is not only encouraged but also nurtured.
We are firm in our dedication to promote the use of Hindi and to fulfil the objectives of the language policy set by the Government of India. Our ongoing initiatives and collaborative efforts reflect our genuine passion for nurturing a linguistic environment that embraces Hindi and values its importance.
III. Official Language Implementation Committee
An Official Language Implementation Committee has been constituted in the institute which meets every quarter. The director of the institute presides over these meetings. The Committee always remains committed to follow the constitutional provisions of the orders/guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India within the circumstances and limitations of the Institute.

IV. Hindi Advisory Committee
Hindi Advisory Committee has been constituted in the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in each Ministry/Department to render advice on the policies laid down by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs regarding use of Hindi in official work.
