Functions
Major Functions of Stores and Purchase:
- Procure goods and services to meet operational needs in a timely manner with established procurement policies and procedures to operates with integrity and the marketplace.
- Ensure all procurements are made in a transparent way and majority of procurement of goods and services are through Government E Market place – GeM (78% through GeM in 2023-24).
- Maintains close communication with department heads to better understand their needs, manage the requisition process and source competitive prices.

- Asset Management
- High value procurements are routed through Standard Purchase Committee (SPC) to review and recommend.
- Price Negotiation Committee (PNC) is in place to negotiate price to take advantage of competitive prices.
