Major functions
- Responsible for overall financial management as per GFR and Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance against established budgets and targets
- Continually monitor financial systems and processes to identify improvements or efficiencies as part of a continuous improvement plan.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's overall strategic plan
- Verification and ensuring monthly processing of payroll, pension and vendors.
- Manage the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Managing funds, payments, and reporting of various sponsored programmes from DST, ICMR, SERB and internal Fund ARF.
- Analysis of Income & Expenditure statement, Balance Sheet and ensuring reconciliation from time to time to prevent errors.
- Ensuring that all accounts staff are being effectively managed, developed, motivated, providing leadership, direction, motivation, clear objectives and meaningful feedback.
- Communicate plan to all staff members and support them in understanding the requirements and implementing change initiatives.
- Ensure a year-end plan with the departments and accounts team that enables preparation, audit of annual accounts and timely submission of statement of Accounts and UC to Ministry.
- Liaise with external auditors i.e. Statutory Auditors and C&AG Auditors on audit planning, audit issues, replies, compliance and achieve a clean audit.
- Reporting of timely, accurate financial/management information to the Ministry.
- Advising the Director on the matters related to Finance and Accounts.
- Attending meetings as a member of various committees as appointed by Director viz. PNC, PRC, SPC, Works Committee, Tender opening committee.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes

Digitalization & Computerization
1. Digitalization: AIISH has taken several measures by implementing digital payments through UPI QR code, Swiping Machines, Web based/App based digital payments by discontinuing existing cash payments, Challan based payments during 2021-22. Institute has achieved 100% cashless payments. AIISH is also creating awareness in general public for using digital mode of payment by reducing cash transactions and is enabling for transforming into digitally empowered society and knowledge economy as a way towards self-reliant India as represented in the slogan “Digital India Atmanirbhar India”.

2. Computerization:
I). Institute has implemented online accounting software from the year 2020-21 with end to end solutions from receipts to payments.

3. Implementation of PFMS/TSA
- In order to bring Autonomous Bodies (ABs) under Treasury Single Account system each autonomous body will open bank accounts for each type of grants in aid issued by Ministries/Departments with Reserve Bank of India in terms of Department of Expenditure OM No. F. No. 26(118)/EMC Cell/2016 dated 27.07.2017.
- AIISH has implemented PFMS Treasury Single Account from July 2023 onwards, in order to ensure that the funds are available with Government till actual utilization and effectively manage the funds.
