Profile / Overview

Dr. Ajish K. Abraham is a Professor of Electronics and Acoustics & Dean (Infrastructure, Planning & Support). He is also serving as the Coordinator for two research centres at the newly initiated Centre of Excellence – 1) Centre for Rehabilitation engineering, Acoustics and Biomedical engineering (CRAB) and 2) Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication & Sign Language (AAC & SL). His current research projects include Development of Visual Scene Display (VSD) based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system, Development of robot for articulatory simulation, Development of an automatic speech processing system for assessment of stuttering, Automation of Malayalam articulation test for assessment of articulation disorders, etc. His work has involved developing several automated diagnostic systems for severity assessment of speech disorders. He has been actively involved in developing assistive technology devices for rehabilitation of persons with communication disorders.

Professor Abraham completed his Ph.D in Electronics from University of Mysore and Post-Doctoral Training at University of California, San Diego, USA.
