Dr.Prithi Venkatesh is working as an Associate Professor in Special Education at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore. She has completed her Bachelors, Masters in Special Education with Specialization in Hearing Impairment from Mumbai and Ph.D. in Education from University of Mysore. She has also done MA (Education) from IGNOU. She is also a certified in ‘Comprehensive Literacy Instructions for Students with Complex Communication Needs’ She has more than 20 years of experience in teaching Diploma, Graduates and Post Graduates and guided many Masters dissertations. Currently she is guiding five Ph.D. in the area of Special Education. Have undertaken and completed eight research projects, presented research papers in both International and National Conferences, served as resource persons for National Seminars, keynote speakers in conferences and won awards for paper presentations. Area of interest in research includes classroom instruction, intervention, early childhood care and education, learning the attitudes of teachers about policy decisions, module preparation and learning its efficacy.

AWARDS AND HONOURS

    1. Received award for ‘Young Researcher Award’ for the paper titled ‘Knowledge and Attitude of teachers towards Government Initiatives for Children with Hearing Impairment’ presented at the Annual National conference of NCED-India held at Jodhpur, Rajasthan in February 2017.
    2. Received the ‘All India Teachers Association for Deaf Award’ for best titled ‘Concerns in Teacher Training Programme Affecting Sustainability in Human Resource Development’ presented at NCED 2018, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from 21st to 23rd February 2018.
    3. Received ‘All India Teachers Association for Deaf Award for best Poster titled ‘ Strategies for Ensuring Quality Assurance in Vocational & Technical Education’  presented at the Annual National conference of NCED-India held at Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 28th January to 30th January 2019.
