Tele center for Persons with Communication Disorder : Infrastructure and Facilities

The tele-center uses state-of-the -art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) mode to reach out to various states of India and across the globe. The following state-of-the art facilities are available from TCPD.
1. ICT platforms for clinical services: Tele-services are provided to the doorsteps of the cases who cannot physically come to the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing or any of the government hospitals to which AIISH is connected. Various state-of- the-art ICT platforms with fully fledged equipment are used to provide tele-assessment, tele-intervention, tele-guidance and tele-orientation services to the doorsteps of the cases.
 2. Dedicated tele-center website: The tele-center has a dedicated website (www.aiishtcpd.com) which can be accessed to get detailed information about the objectives, activities, services, resource materials developed at the center.
3. Human resources:
The department has a team of full-time and deputed faculties and the staff members including speech language pathologists, audiologists, administrative staffs, and multi-tasking staffs.
4. Availability of clinical resource materials

The center also offers tele-guidance for children facing problems at school. The problems may be in terms of reading difficulty, writing problems or problems in mathematical calculation.The Tele-center has a series of publications to help parents of children with hearing impairment. The books are published in five volumes in English, Kannada and Hindi languages. The books have information on how parents can develop their child’s speech and language skills by carrying out simple activities at home. For more details follow www.aiishtcpd.com.
